Lace up your running shoes and fuel your imagination at the Laps for Literacy: 5K Library Fun Run! Hosted by the Nampa Public Library Foundation and benefiting the Nampa Public Library, this community-wide event invites runners, walkers, and book lovers of all ages to hit the trail on Saturday morning, October 3, 2026, at Orah Brandt Park. Whether you're aiming for a personal record or taking a leisurely stroll with family, every step you take directly supports vital literacy programs, expands access to books, and funds essential community resources at the Nampa Public Library. The 5K run will be there, of course, along with a bounce house for young children, music, and the library bookmobile—all supporting literacy and our community's growing needs.

Nampa is the most populous city in Canyon County, Idaho, United States. The population was 100,200 at the 2020 census. It is Idaho's third-most populous city. Nampa is about 20 miles (32 km) west of Boise along Interstate 84, and 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Meridian. It is the second principal city of the Boise metropolitan area. The name "Nampa" may have come from a Shoshoni word meaning 'moccasin' or 'footprint'. According to toponymist William O. Bright, the name comes from the Shoshoni word /nampai/, meaning "foot". The city has a prominent student population, home to the College of Western Idaho and Northwest Nazarene University.
