Cycling enthusiasts are invited to pedal along the stunning Cornwall coast road for an unforgettable experience. This challenging race offers three distinct routes that showcase the area's breathtaking landscapes and coastal vistas. Participants will be awarded Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals based on their finishing times within age and gender categories.
The event kicks off at Folly Fields with a strict start time of 08:30 AM for all riders to ensure smooth operation along the entire course. Cyclists must adhere to a minimum pace of 13 mph throughout the race, which concludes by 5:00 PM that day. Along the way, competitors will encounter three feed stations where they can refuel and hydrate before continuing their journey.
The first station is located at St Just Sports Centre after 22 miles, providing essential support to riders as they progress through the early stages of the race. Further ahead lies Portreath Millennium Hall at mile 50, offering a much-needed break for participants who are pushing themselves hard against the terrain and weather conditions. Finally, cyclists will reach Mawgan Recreation Hall after covering another 22 miles, marking the last chance to rest before completing their final stretch.
This event has been a beloved fixture in Cornwall since its inception at Folly Fields in 2010 under Just Events management but now operates under new leadership dedicated to maintaining and enhancing this popular cycling tradition. Riders can expect an exhilarating challenge that tests both physical endurance and mental fortitude while enjoying the scenic beauty of one of Britain's most picturesque coastlines.
