Lakeland Paws: Grizedale Growl

Welcome back to Grizedale Forest for another exhilarating race as part of our 5th Season series, featuring nine events this year. Each race begins at the early hour of 9am with individual starts, ensuring every dog has ample space and safety during their run.
This particular event takes place on the south side of Grizedale Forest, offering stunning views over Coniston Water throughout much of the course. The route is entirely along wide forest paths, making it suitable for runners to bring two dogs each if they choose. All canines must be equipped with a harness that fits appropriately and securely.
Competitors have two distance options: a challenging 10K loop featuring 250 meters of ascent or a more manageable 5K route with only 180 meters of elevation gain, ideal for beginners or those who prefer a shorter race. This course is one of the easier routes in our series and tends to fill up quickly due to its popularity.
The event will be fully chip-timed for accurate results and well-marked along the way. For runners looking to plan their route ahead of time, GPX files are available for download on our website. Whether you're racing with your furry companions or running solo, this scenic race promises a memorable experience amidst nature's beauty.
