Lake Benbrook Half Marathon, 10K & 5K

Join the Cox Running Club for the highly anticipated return of the Lake Benbrook Half Marathon, set to take place on January 23, 2027. This historic race, recognized as one of the oldest half marathons in the DFW Metroplex, is making a comeback after several years with renewed energy and enthusiasm. For this edition, runners can choose from three distances: the traditional Half Marathon (13.1 miles), a new addition—the 10K (6.2 miles)—and the ever-popular 5K (3.1 miles). The race begins at Dutch Branch Park in Benbrook, Texas, and follows scenic routes along picturesque Lake Benbrook.
Participants can look forward to an engaging morning with early registration starting at 6:30 AM for those who want to secure their packets ahead of time. The Half Marathon kicks off promptly at 7:45 AM, followed by the 10K start at 8:00 AM and the 5K beginning shortly after at 8:10 AM. All finishers will receive a custom-designed medal to commemorate this special event.
The race offers more than just competition; it's an opportunity for runners of all levels to experience the beauty of North Texas in winter, with its crisp air and serene landscapes along Lake Benbrook. With awards given out for overall male and female winners as well as age group categories across various distances, there’s plenty of motivation to push your limits.
Registration fees vary based on early bird discounts available until December 1st, making it a great incentive to sign up sooner rather than later. Shirts are guaranteed only if you register by January 15th, ensuring that all participants can enjoy the event's custom apparel while supplies last.
