About the Event

On Saturday, September 26th, runners are invited to the charming village of Vertaizon for an uplifting day filled with scenic routes and community spirit. The main attraction is a 6km race designed for beginners and casual runners who want to enjoy the beauty of the countryside while giving back to those in need.
The course takes participants through verdant paths that reveal hidden gems along the way, offering glimpses into nature’s untouched splendor. Midway through, racers will tackle a gentle ascent that culminates with breathtaking views from Vertaizon's historic 13th-century church. The final kilometer is all downhill, leading to an exhilarating finish line where live music by a local band adds to the festive atmosphere.
For those seeking more of a challenge, there’s also a 12km route that ventures onto the rolling hills surrounding Puy de Pileyre. This trail features sections with rocky terrain loved by seasoned trail runners who appreciate the technical nature of such courses.
Additionally, walkers can choose either the 6 or 12km routes and set off anytime between 10:40 AM and 2 PM, providing flexibility for those enjoying a leisurely day out in the countryside.
The event includes an exhibition and sale of handcrafted items by Esprit Créatif at the village hall, along with meals prepared by APE Amicale Laïque members. These offerings complement the race day festivities while also contributing to a worthy cause—raising funds for women battling breast cancer through Clermont en Rose.
Race start times are as follows: 10 AM for the 12km route and 10:30 AM for the 6km run, with walking departures between 10:40 AM and 2 PM. Packet pickup will take place at Place du 8 Mai 1945 in Vertaizon on September 26th.
