DanceBlue: Chasing After J.O.Y. 5K!DanceBlue is a completely student-run philanthropy at the University of Kentucky dedicated to supporting the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Inspired by Jarrett Mynear’s final request to “do something to help the Clinic,” DanceBlue raises funds and awareness year-round in the fight against pediatric cancer, providing care and support for patients and their families.These efforts culminated in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon, the grand finale to months of fundraising through events such as mini marathons, a silent auction, and our annual 5K run/walk. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting Kentucky families at the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Golisano’s Children’s at the University of Kentucky.Our fight against pediatric cancer is fought through providing Clinic improvements, groundbreaking research, and emotional/financial patient support year-round. DanceBlue will continue to spread joy for those who are fighting, in memory of the lives lost, and to celebrate every victory until the battle against pediatric cancer is won.For students planning to participate in the marathon, the 5K registration is worth 20 SPIRIT POINTS!
