11th Annual Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival 5K & 1 Mile

Corner of Marshall St. & Wakefield Rd. Near the Ferry

The race will start and finish at the Corner of Marshall St. & Wakefield Rd. Near the Ferry. Race course map is posted below.

Registration Fees (Early & Late Fees & dates):

5K & 1 Mile fees are $35 early registration until Jan. 9th and $40 race day

With your registration fee you will receive a t-shirt (if registered by Jan. 4th) and a free admission wrist band for admission into the La Fur and Wildlife Festival grounds. This year the LA Fur and Wildlife Festival is honoring the Cameron Parish Oyster Industry.

Online Registration Closes on Jan. 9th at 1pm.

Race day registration available starting at 7:00 am but will not include a T-shirt. Race Starts at 8 am.

T-shirts are guaranteed only to registrations done by Jan. 4th at midnight. There will be no t-shirt given with registrations after January 4th.

There will be no event t-shirts sold at the race.

Awards for 5K:

**Overall Male will receive an Alligator Wallet and Overall Female will receive an Alligator Purse.**

1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners in each age group below.

All participants will receive an alligator tooth necklace.

Age Groups:

1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 & 60+

Packet Pickup (Location, Date & Time):

Is at 7:00 am race morning at the race site

Cameron Parish Triple Crown Race Series

The first race is the Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival 5K.

The 2nd race is the Gibbstown Bridge 5K held in April 2026.

About Cameron

On the Louisiana coast, in the far southwestern corner of the state, lies the small port town of Cameron. Sparsely populated, this city is the parish seat for Cameron Parish, which has been designated by the parish tourism commission as the "Louisiana Outback." When driving into this area from Lake Charles or the Texas coastal city of Port Arthur, such a moniker seems well founded, as the feeling of isolation quickly washes over a person and the sense of being in a wetlands-filled wilderness spreads. The mid-point town on the nationally designated Creole Nature Trail All-American Road, Cameron often acts as a stopping and break point for travelers taking in the wetlands scenery of the Trail.
