Fleurienne: A Unique Run and Walk Event for Sport, Integration, Sharing, and the Fight Against Pediatric Cancer
Join us at La FLEURIENNE, an exceptional race and walk that combines athletic competition with community spirit. This event is more than just a run; it's a celebration of health, inclusion, and support for those fighting pediatric cancer. Generous sponsors have contributed to make this day special by offering gifts worth over €3000.
Our primary goal is to ensure everyone enjoys the experience while fostering a love for sports among young participants who may not otherwise engage in physical activities due to illness or other challenges. We aim to provide adapted exercise options for those typically excluded from such events, encouraging all attendees to embrace an active lifestyle and feel part of something greater than themselves.
Set against the backdrop of autumn's picturesque landscapes around Fleury, this event features a variety of races suitable for different age groups and abilities:
- A 10 km run through fields and forests.
- An 8 km walk on a slightly shorter route, with all proceeds going to Enfants Cancer Santé, an organization dedicated to pediatric oncology research. Each step taken is seen as progress in the fight against cancer.
Participants will also find a more accessible 2 km race designed for elementary school children and others outside of Fleury's local community, along with adults facing physical challenges or those involved in health-focused sports programs.
Organized by the Tennis Badminton et Running Association of Fleury, under the direction of Mr. Rémigy, this event is expected to attract around 300-350 runners and walkers on September 6th, 2026. The run will start at 9:30 AM from Salle polyvalente de Fleury, followed by a walk starting at 10:00 AM.
The course offers scenic views of the countryside and forest paths, including an unexpected lakeside detour with high-quality trails throughout. Participants can look forward to mild autumn weather during this event, enhancing their experience amidst natural beauty.
In addition to enjoying the run or walk itself, winners will receive a variety of prizes worth approximately €3000 in total, courtesy of local sponsors and artisans. For those interested, online registration is available via GoTiming, with bib collection possible on September 4th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and September 5th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Salle polyvalente de Fleury.
