Tadpole Trot $10 (No Price Change) 5K - $35 ($45 after August 16) 10K - $45 ($55 after August 16) 1/2 Marathon - $75 ($90 after August 16) Youth 17 & Under - $25 for 5k, 10k, or 1/2 marathon races. Event Description

The Kokanee Trail Runs have been a favorite among the running community for years in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The Half-Marathon, Tadpole Trot, 5k/10k on the shore of Fallen Leaf Lake are one of the many exciting and cultural events that take place during race weekend. The Kokanee Trail Runs offers: -- offer unique finisher's awards for all and prizes for the top runners in each gender/age division of each race. -- incredibly scenic courses -- the Half marathon travels over the top of Tahoe Mountain with views of gorgeous Lake Tahoe -- post-race refreshments and food available for all registered runners -- a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) sanctioned event -- a non-competitive half-mile “Tadpole Trot” for children 12 and under (Children participating in the half-mile non-competitive Tadpole Trot receive a finisher bag containing their award and refreshments) Come join us for some amazing fall colors in one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Event Shirt

Special event shirt which is sustainably sourced and made from 100% recycled materials. Due to availability adult unisex sizes will be long sleeve while kids sizes will be short sleeve. Recover Brands ensures shirts are made from post industrial cotton scraps and post consumer plastics using renewable energy sources and offering fair wages to employees. Orders after August 16th will not be guaranteed a shirt due to lead-time and availability, although we do order extras based on past race entries. You may not get your preferred size.

Start Line/Parking

Start/Finish will be located at South Tahoe High School. Start/Finish line will be located at the Football Field behind the High School. Parking is available in any of the lots at the high school. Race day registration and bib pickup will be located at the north end of Football Field. Restrooms available on the north end of the Football Field.

Course Stats

5k: 3.4 miles with 263 feet of gain 10k: 6.54 miles with 618 feet of gain 1/2 Marathon: 12.63 miles with 1,387 feet of gain Exact distances and elevation gains will vary by GPS device and setup. In general expect the 5k and 10k course to be a little long with the 1/2 marathon course a little short.

Aid Stations

5k: A water only aid station around 1/2 way mark. 10k: 2 aid stations (Fallen Leaf Road that you pass twice, miles 2.2 & 4.5). Stocked with water, Tailwind, and snacks. 1/2 Marathon: 3 aid stations (Fallen Leaf Road x2 (Miles 2.2 & 6.9), and Tahoe Mountain (Mile 8.5)). Stocked with water, Tailwind, and snacks. Tailwind will be the official drink on course. Dauwatermelon at all aid stations and Rapid Hydration at the finish line for recovery. We do our best to limit waste at the event, please carry a reusable cup or use your handheld or similar for aid station fill ups. Let's keep Tahoe beautiful!

Funds from 2026 Kokanee Trail runs with go to Nevada Humane Society and Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. Your race entry makes a huge impact in our local community, thank you!

Safety Rules

For the safety of all participants and per our race insurance provider, there will be NO HEADPHONES, NO DOGS, STROLLERS OR BABY JOGGERS allowed. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation.

12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Male/Female/Non-Binary

Refunds/Inclement Weather

In the event that unforseen circumstances (wildfires, local or State Covid restrictions, US Forest Service restrictions, or other situation outside the control of Tahoe Mountain Milers), refunds will not be issued. Any profits will be donated to the charity(ies) of choice for that year's race. In the event of inclement weather, start times may be adjusted. Weather at this time of the year is very favorable, but storms with lighting will affect race start time. Any changes will be communicated via your UltraSignup email. If you are unable to make the race, we unfortunately don't offer refunds or deferrals.
