Kiwanis Club of Chester Annual 5K

About the Event

We will be hosting the 30th annual Chester Kiwanis 5K Race on Saturday, May 24, 2025. This 3.1 mile race is a popular community event and an important fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Chester. This event draws in more than 300 runners and walkers to connect with each other, appreciate our town, enjoy a hot breakfast and most of all, support our mission of serving the children of the world.

The Chester Kiwanis are celebrating their 50th Anniversary of serving the Chester community.

Our race fee includes a Stay-Dri T-Shirt, delicious hot breakfast and a raffle. T-Shirts are available first-come, first-serve basis on race day. Those who registered early have their T-Shirts set aside for race day pick-up. We are not holding T-Shirts after race day, please make arrangements to pick them up.

The hot breakfast is cooked by the Chester Presbyterian Church at the concession stand, it is free to the runners with a $5 donation for others who want the dinner. There is also water, fruit and other snacks available for all in the Pavillion.

We will be pre-selecting raffle winners to save time, the prize will be given out with the bib. Some prizes the winners need to be over 18 years old. This years Grand Prize is 2 nights in beautiful Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, NY donated by Confluence Running. They also donated free coaching and gift certificates. Thanks to our sponsors there are lots of other prizes to be announced.

The Town of Chester is made of several communities in the Adirondacks around the small hamlet of Chestertown. Other hamlets within the town boundaries include Pottersville, Friends Lake, Loon Lake, and Schroon Lake. Of the three lakes, only Loon Lake has a public beach—for the others you'll have to check into a B&B.
