The Kilkenny Ridge Race course follows the Kilkenny Ridge Trail from the South Pond Recreation Area in Stark, New Hampshire to the Jefferson Inn in Jefferson, New Hampshire. The traverse is around 25 miles each way with approximately 7,500 feet of climbing for each direction, and it takes runners through some of the wildest and most remote scenery of the White Mountain National Forest. Runners will tackle two of the White Mountain 4,000 footers, Mount Cabot and Mount Waumbek, in addition to several other peaks on the southern part of the route called The Bulge, The Horn, and Mount Starr King. The course is not marked as the signage is very good along the ridge trail. Please study maps before running the course. We will have maps available at bib pickup. You will need to pay attention. Runners are also required to download the GPS track to their phone and/or watch. 50 mile participants will start and finish at the South Pond Recreation Area and run to the Jefferson Inn for the turnaround aid station. 25 mile participants will start at the Jefferson Inn off Route 2 after being bused from the South Pond Recreation Area, and make their way back to the finish at South Pond via the Kilkenny Ridge Trail. 25K participants will be bused to the start at the Berlin Fish Hatchery, and tackle 4,000 feet of climbing along the Kilkenny Ridge Trail on their way back to the finish at the South Pond Recreation Area. This course is WILD AND WOOLY so prepare for it to feel very remote.

We appreciate our volunteers! Join us in providing an awesome experience! For many, volunteering is rewarding in its own right and a great way to give back to the running community. For others, it is a way to see things from the other side of the table, and learn a lot about running races before jumping into them. All volunteers earn race credits toward any future Aravaipa event. Register for an available shift for the Kilkenny Ridge Race .
