Pancreatic cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers, with only 1 in 10 Canadians surviving five years past diagnosis. Craig's Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society runs this event to change that number. Every step and every dollar raised feeds directly into four pillars: public awareness, healthcare education, patient support, and Canadian research. Last year's Newfoundland event drew over 100 participants and raised more than $10,000—a 25% jump in donations. This year's goal is $15,000, and they're counting on you to help surpass it.
Race kit pickup happens Friday, 29 May 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Running Room (9 Rowan Street, St. John's). Spots are limited, and there is no onsite registration on race day. The course stays open for 90 minutes, so you can set your own pace without pressure. Whether you run in memory of someone, run to support a family member, or simply run because you believe more people deserve better outcomes, your presence matters.
Albert's Tumornators, Poppy's Angels, Hickman Automotive Group, and Team Poppy are already on the leaderboard. Vanessa Pike currently leads individual fundraising. Want to see your name up there? Grab a pledge sheet from the event site, talk to coworkers and friends, and turn everyday conversations into real support. Running Room sponsors the event, and every dollar stays in Canada. Light up the night in St. John's—wear purple, glow bright, and help kick pancreatic cancer.
