Kettle Moraine 100 Endurance Runs

About the Event

The Kettle Moraine takes place on June 13-14, 2026, starting at N9084 County Road H in LaGrange, Wisconsin. This classic ultra marathon, one of the oldest 100 mile races in the country, features a 100 miler, 100K, 38 miler, 50K, and 100 mile relay — with 100% trail running including 65 miles on the Wisconsin Ice Age Trail.

Event Logistics & Registration Information:

Lottery Registration Window: December 1 – December 30. Lottery drawing: January 1 at 11:00 AM CT. No charge until you accept an invite.
Registration Deadline: Closes Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM CT.
Waitlist: Non-selected lottery entrants automatically placed on waitlist. Invites sent in batches of 5 (2 in order from waitlist, 3 randomly drawn).
Volunteer Priority Registration: 2025 Kettle volunteers receive early invitation during last week of November with guaranteed spot before waitlist.
Rollover Policy: Race credit rollover if notified 70 days before event (via UltraSignup). 50% event credit (good for two years) available until 25 days before event. After expiration: race entry credit for 2026 with 8-hour volunteer shift at 2025 event.
No Refunds or Transfers: No exceptions to clear options listed at checkout.
Wisconsin IDNR Parking Sticker: Required for every car. Race entry includes a parking pass (pick up at Friday packet pickup). Forgetting to bring it requires purchasing a new pass.
Honor System – Volunteer Service: 8 hours of volunteer work within your local community required to run race (trail volunteer, race volunteer, or other community help). Share on Kettle Moraine 100 Training Page on Facebook.
Course: 100% trail with few road crossings. 65 miles on Ice Age Trail.

Swag, Awards & History:

Western States Qualifier: Finish Kettle Moraine 100 in 30 hours or under to qualify for Western States 100.
Event History: Started in 1996 by Kevin and Kris Setnes (RD for 6 years). Then Tim "Timo" Yanacheck and Jason Dorgan co-RD'd until 2018. These four ultra running pioneers built traditions that continue today.
Community Note: The Kettle Moraine 100 is why so many became trail and ultra-marathoners. Founders are greatly admired, respected, and appreciated.
Coaching & Nutrition Services: Available through race partners with custom plans, coach communication (phone/text/video/email), and Final Surge account.
Email Communication: Participants must ensure race emails are not marked as SPAM.
Waitlist Process: As runners withdraw, waitlist invites go out. Sometimes 15 invites before one person accepts a spot.
Scenic Setting: Wisconsin's Kettle Moraine region with classic glacial terrain.
