Welcome to the second edition of Julita Loppet, an enchanting running experience nestled at the heart of Sörmland! This family-friendly and tradition-rich race is organized by Julita GoIF in collaboration with Nordiska museet and Julita Gård. Here, runners of all ages come together for a day filled with camaraderie, joy, and beautiful scenery. One highlight of this event is the Swedish Duathlon Championships scheduled to take place in 2026 at Julita Loppet. Elite athletes, age-group competitors, and recreational participants will share the same arena, competing on a course that includes a 5-kilometer run followed by a 30-kilometer bike ride around Lake Öljaren before finishing with another 5 kilometers back to the finish line at Julita Gård. For younger runners, Lilla Julita Loppet offers two distances for children up to age 12 – either 500 meters or 1.7 kilometers. Participation is free of charge and comes with a number tag and medal for all participants, but no official timing. The Korta (Short) and Långa (Long) Julita Loppet cater to runners looking for scenic routes through the countryside. The shorter distance covers 5 kilometers along picturesque trails in parks, forests, and past cultural landmarks around Lake Öljaren. For those seeking more of a challenge, the longer option extends this route into two laps at 10 kilometers. Another unique event is Rävstafetten – a relay race for teams consisting of four runners who complete 4x1.7-kilometer legs each before passing to their teammate. This team-oriented competition offers an excellent opportunity for families, friends, colleagues, or clubs to participate together and finish with a joint dash across the line. Skabbräven is designed for endurance enthusiasts looking to push themselves further; participants must complete 12 laps of 6.7 kilometers each within strict time limits set at every hour interval. Finishing all twelve segments requires an impressive total distance of 80 kilometers, testing not just speed but also strategy and mental resilience. The race starts and finishes in front of the charming Stora Huset (Great House) on Julita Gård grounds, offering stunning views over Lake Öljaren throughout its course. Alongside the races are free running technique courses provided by DE Hälsa for all registered participants aiming to improve their skills or stay injury-free. With generous prize money available in various categories and an atmosphere that celebrates community spirit alongside athletic achievement, Julita Loppet is more than just a race – it's a celebration of local heritage and the joy of movement.
