RegisterThe mission of the Jingle Bell 5k Beer Run is to be active, have fun and give back to our local community. All proceeds go towards PATH (People for Active Transportation Hawaii), a community-based, grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit public access organization serving Hawaii County. PATH's mission is to champion and educate on safe, accessible, and active transportation opportunities in communities throughout Hawai’i Island. We believe safe, equitable transportation options promote healthy people, healthy communities, healthy land, and a healthy planet. The PATH board of directors, staff and supporters believe that publicly accessible trails, bikeways and pathways do much to revive Hawaii’s unique history, allow us to live sustainably as islanders, preserve our fragile natural environment and build strong community relationships.
So not only do you get to enjoy some healthy activity and great beer - you are helping us support a local organization that does important work in our community.
• This is a fun run! All levels of walkers, runners and joggers are welcome. Strollers are welcome on the course, with care and caution.
• OVERFLOW PARKING - If the Shops at Mauna Lani parking lot fills up, overflow parking will be on Ho'ohana St. (take the roundabout towards the Fairmont Orchid). Parking along Mauna Lani Dr. will not be permitted.
• Race start time is 8:00am, with finish times recorded until 9:30am. Early packet pickup is from 3:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, Dec. 5 at Island Hopper Taproom. Race Day packet pickup is 6:00am-7:30am on the morning of the race. Participants who register on race day won't have their time recorded, but can still get a race t-shirt, swag bag, beers, and run the course.
• This is an open course, meaning roads will NOT be closed. You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations.
• Dogs will not be allowed on the course, though they are welcome at the post-race Holiday Market.
• Prizes will be awarded for the top male and female finishers in the following age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• Special prizes will also be awarded to the top three finishers in the Beer Division (more info below)
• You must bring a valid ID or driver's license. You do not need to be 21 to enjoy the event, but you must be 21 to enjoy the beer. Please drink responsibly. We always encourage carpooling and safe, designated drivers.
• There will not be a bag check; please plan accordingly and dress appropriately for the weather.
• Wear your most festive attire and get your jingle on!
• 1 free post-race beer on tap from Island Hopper Taproom (runners 21+ with valid ID). Additional beer will also be available for purchase after the race, with a portion of sales donated to PATH Hawaii.
• Entrance to our Prize Drawing, which includes the Grand Prize of a 1-night stay for 2 at the Mauna Lani Auberge.
• Access to the post-race Holiday Market with music, food, local vendors, keiki bounce houses, face painting, and a holiday costume contest.
The Beer Division race is equal parts athletic endeavor and gastric challenge. Participants over 21 years of age will receive 1 beer at the start of the race, and 1 beer at the halfway point. Chug, sip, sample, taste, pound – however you want to do it – just drink that beer and get back on the course because the clock still runs as you drink! The top 3 finishers will be awarded a commemorative Jingle Bell Beer Run Mug, which entitles the owner to $5 draft beers any time they bring their mug to Island Hopper Taproom.

These values represent the 3-year monthly averages for December in Kamuela.
Waimea is a landlocked community in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaii, United States. Waimea is the center for ranching activities and paniolo culture. The name Waimea means reddish water. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined that community as a census-designated place (CDP). The population was 7,028 at the 2000 census and 9,212 at the 2010 census. Since each U.S. state cannot have more than one post office of the same name, and there is a post office in Waimea, Kauai County, the official U.S. Post Office designation for Waimea is Kamuela, although this name is only used by the post office, not by locals nor road signage.
