Marking two decades of athletic tradition, the 20th Jeongnamjin Jangheung National Marathon returns to the heart of Jeollanam-do on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Officially subtitled as the "Prayer for Unification" marathon, this landmark event combines competitive road racing with a profound message of peace and national harmony. Starting from the lush Tamjin River Waterfront Park in Jangheung-eup, the race invites thousands of runners to experience the serene beauty of the southern coast. The course is famously categorized as one of the most runner-friendly routes in South Korea, tracing the scenic, crystal-clear Tamjin River. Known for being exceptionally flat and meticulously paved, the route is a prime destination for athletes looking to secure a personal best (PB). The Half Marathon and 10km distances offer a technical out-and-back format that maximizes the riverside views, while the 5km Health Run provides a festive, family-oriented experience for all ages.
