Isaberg500 is a high-intensity trail running event scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Isaberg Mountain Resort in Hestra, Sweden. Designed to mimic the technical demands of European alpine races and Swedish mountain marathons, the course delivers a challenging 11km route with approximately 650 meters of total vertical gain. The race is known for its steep switchbacks, long downhill sections, and scenic views from the summit, transitioning through enchanted forests and rugged ridges. For the first time in 2026, the main competition has moved to Saturday to encourage a full weekend of regional activities and tourism.

Hestra is located in the Gislaved Municipality of Jönköping County, situated in the southern Swedish highlands. The Gislaved region has a population of approximately 30,000 residents, with a demographic makeup that is roughly 75% Swedish-born and a diverse international community making up the remainder. The local economy is historically rooted in manufacturing and forestry, with a median annual household income of approximately 340,000 SEK. Geographically, Isaberg is one of the highest points in southern Sweden, reaching an elevation of 310 meters above sea level. In late April, the Scandinavian climate is often unpredictable; average daytime highs reach 11°C (52°F), while forest trails can remain damp and technical after the spring thaw. The terrain is a mix of prepared ski slope paths and winding, root-heavy single-track trails.

The event includes a dedicated Kids Trail race, which is free for children up to 13 years old and provides a significant challenge of 150 vertical meters over a 2km distance. Registration is conducted exclusively online through the event's official portal, and a detailed race PM (Participant Manual) is released in the weeks leading up to the start. Isaberg Mountain Resort serves as the logistical hub, providing lodging packages for those staying through Sunday to explore the region's other outdoor offerings.
