iRun WNY New Year's Eve 5K

Kick off 2027 with the iRun Western New York's 11th Annual 5K New Year's Classic, featuring two scenic races at Fort Niagara State Park. On December 31, 2026, and January 1, 2027, runners can choose to participate in one or both events, each offering a unique course through the park’s historic grounds.
The New Year's Eve race starts near Old Fort Niagara’s iconic lighthouse and follows a clockwise route around the picturesque landscape. Participants will enjoy stunning views of Lake Ontario while passing by scenic spots within this beautifully preserved state park. The next day, on January 1st, runners experience a counter-clockwise journey through the same terrain.
Both races feature one water station that participants pass twice during their run and finish with bottled water at the line near the historic lighthouse. Post-race festivities include music, light food, and snacks in a large heated tent across from the Officer’s Club, creating an inviting atmosphere for runners to unwind and celebrate their achievements.
Early registrants receive custom finisher medals designed exclusively for this event, while those who sign up before December 15th can enjoy discounted rates. Additionally, participants have the option of sharing their New Year's resolutions online during registration; these will be announced as they cross the finish line on race day. Age group awards and overall male and female trophies are also part of the celebration.
With ample free parking near the main lot and a warm post-race tent for relaxation, this event offers a perfect blend of scenic beauty and festive spirit to welcome in 2027.
