IntraCoastal Waterway Century

Experience the inaugural edition of the Coastal Breeze Century, set to take place on November 14th in Cocoa, Florida. This breathtaking cycle event will traverse the region's most scenic waterways and historic sites, offering routes that showcase the Space Coast’s natural beauty.
The race begins at Downtown Cocoa’s vibrant Cocoa Beach Boulevard, a bustling street lined with local cafes and an atmosphere of lively energy. Cyclists will embark on their journey early in the morning under clear skies, enjoying comfortable temperatures around 24 degrees Celsius as they pedal along the Intracoastal Waterway. The route features diverse terrain, including neighborhood roads and paths that lead to tranquil waterways where sailboats gently glide by.
Participants can expect to encounter a variety of distances: a 14-mile Fun Ride, a Half Metric Century (28 miles), a full Metric Century (66 miles), and the Century route at 100 miles. Each distance offers unique challenges and scenic views that cater to cyclists of all skill levels.
The event boasts a rich history dating back to its first organization by the Space Coast Freewheelers in 1989, making it one of the longest-running cycling events on the calendar. Proceeds from this race benefit multiple charities supported by both the Space Coast Freewheelers and local community organizations.
A key feature of Coastal Breeze Century is its commitment to providing a supportive environment for all participants. Cyclists will find rest stops fully stocked with food, drink, and cue sheets for navigation. The course also includes mobile support teams available throughout the race to ensure safety and assistance when needed.
Weather conditions on November 14th promise mild temperatures ranging from a minimum of 21 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius, with low humidity ensuring comfortable riding conditions. Light winds will keep things cool as cyclists navigate through picturesque neighborhoods and along serene waterways.
