On October 18, 2026, the vibrant city of Barueri will host the annual Run for Hope, an inspiring charity race aimed at raising funds and awareness for breast cancer prevention and treatment. The event takes place at the José Corrêa Gymnasium in downtown Barueri, offering participants a unique blend of athletic challenge and community spirit.
Upon signing up, runners receive the official kit that grants them entry to the event, though participation in the race itself is optional. This year’s edition will feature 5k and 10k runs for adults, as well as a family-friendly 3k walk, with all proceeds going directly towards supporting the life-changing work of Instituto Protea.
Instituto Protea, founded in 2018, has been at the forefront of transforming breast cancer care across Brazil. Their comprehensive approach includes everything from prevention and diagnosis to treatment and post-care support, ensuring a seamless journey for patients throughout their recovery process. The organization’s efforts have already benefitted over two thousand women with fully funded treatments and reached more than forty thousand individuals through its programs in São Paulo, Salvador, Goiás, and Rio de Janeiro.
Registration is open until October 1st or when the limit of 4,500 participants is reached, offering a chance to join this impactful event. Participants aged fourteen years and older can take part in either the 5k run or the more challenging 10k race, while children ten years and above are welcome for the walk.
The Run for Hope promises an uplifting atmosphere with live music, interactive booths, and inspiring speakers sharing stories of hope and resilience. It’s a day to celebrate life, raise awareness, and make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
