The Hyannis 1 Triathlon takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Craigville Beach in Centerville, Massachusetts (Town of Barnstable, Cape Cod). This 44th season event — the longest-running triathlon in the East — offers Sprint and Olympic distances, plus Aquabike, Duathlon, Aquathlon, and relay options, with a scenic swim in Nantucket Sound, a rolling hills bike course through historic Cape Cod villages, and a run toward Hyannisport.

Event Logistics & Participant Information:

Transition Opens: 5:30 AM.
Olympic Transition Closes: 6:45 AM. Sprint Transition Closes: 7:15 AM.
Olympic Race & Aquathlon Start: 7:00 AM. Sprint Race & Duathlon Start: 7:30 AM.
Packet Pick-up: Friday 5-7 PM at race site, or race morning 5:30-6:30 AM. ALL participants must bring photo ID and proof of USAT membership. No picking up packets for others. All relay team members must be present.
Parking: Large lots next to transition and across the street. Town parking fee included in registration. Spectator parking free.
Bike Exit Restriction: Bikes cannot leave transition until all participants have returned from the bike course.
USAT Sanctioned: Annual or 1-day USAT membership required. Results count toward national and regional rankings.
Water Conditions: Race director may substitute beach run if water below 65°F, quality issues, or extremely rough surf.
No E-Bikes: Not accepted regardless of battery or pedal intention.
No Dogs: Town regulations forbid dogs on or near the beach at this time of year.
Charity Partner: Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod (donation option at registration).
Volunteers: Friends and family encouraged to volunteer. Perks include priority parking, t-shirt, refreshments, swag bag. Register online or email [email protected].
Travel: Cape Cod offers hotels, motels, inns, B&Bs, cottages, and AirBnB options.
Virtual Option: "Tri It Your Way" — complete your own triathlon activities June 5-19, submit results by June 19.

Awards Ceremony: Approximately 9:30 AM. Top 3 in each age group (male, female, non-binary), plus Elites, Clydesdale/Athena, First-Timers, Para-triathletes, relay teams, Aquabike, Duathlon, Aquathlon. Unclaimed awards available at awards table or via shipping request.
Lobster Pot Team Challenge: Clubs with 6+ athletes entered in Sprint or Olympic categories compete for trophy and free future race entries.
Youth & Juniors: Discounted rates for participants under 18.
State Championships: 2026 USA Triathlon State Championships Ranking Point Event for Massachusetts residents. Must complete at least 3 qualifying races for champion eligibility.
Special Categories: First-Timers (swim with others in first season — not eligible for age group awards). Casual/Friends & Family (relaxed category — no age group awards). Elites (professionals and premier athletes). Clydesdale (220+ lb men) / Athena (165+ lb women). Para-triathletes (adaptive athletes).
Post-Race: Foods available at finish line from 8:30 AM. Post-race yoga at awards ceremony.
Pre-Race: Free open-water swim clinic Friday 5:30 PM. Pre-race Zoom meeting Tuesday before race.
Timing: Chip timed. Results on NEEevents.com within 24 hours.
