The HOSA 4th Annual Color Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Organized by HOSA-Future Health Professionals, this family-friendly event is designed to support a local community member with significant medical expenses. This year, 100% of the proceeds will benefit 8-year-old Sophia, who is currently battling stage 4 liver failure due to Biliary atresia and requires a life-saving liver transplant. Course Details and Participation

The 3.1-mile 5K course winds around the Rhinelander Dome and surrounding areas, emphasizing fun over competitive speed.

- The Experience: Participants are doused in colored powder at various stations. Organizers suggest wearing white clothing to maximize the visual effect of the colors.
- "No Color" Option: For those who wish to participate but stay clean (e.g., for prom night), a specific No Color registration option is available for both the 1-Mile and 5K.
- Timing & Awards: While primarily a fun run, the event is chip-timed. Top overall male and female finishers (1-3) receive wooden plaques created by the RHS Hodag Fab Lab.
- Support Stations: Mile markers and water/aid stations are positioned throughout the route to assist walkers and runners of all ages.

Registration and Fees

Pricing is tiered to encourage early registration and provide affordable options for students and children.

- General Registration: $25 if signed up before May 1, increasing to $35 thereafter (base price before platform fees).
- Student/Child Discount: RHS students and children aged 13 and under can register for $15. All registrations include an event t-shirt.
- Fundraising: In addition to entry fees, participants can purchase tickets for raffle baskets starting at 8:00 AM. Drawings occur during the 10:00 AM race.
- Proceeds: Every dollar raised goes directly to Sophia’s medical fund to help her family manage the costs associated with her ongoing hospitalizations and transplant needs.
