About the Event

Pancreatic Cancer is the 3rd leading cause of cancer death in the United States, carrying an overall 5-year relative survival rate of about 13%. The average lifetime risk is roughly 1 in 56 for men and 1 in 60 for women. 67,440 people were diagnosed in 2025.

This is a fundraising event for PANCAN to keep Hope alive and help find a cure.

Teams of 2 - register individually and compete together.

Challenge 1 10:15am-11:00am

100 Bodyweight Squats (split the work) then alternate on the rower for max meters.

Challenge 2 11:15am-12pm

100 Sit-ups (split the work) then alt for max calories on Airbike, completing 50 Sit-ups every 5 mins, starting at 11:20am

Challenge 3 12:20pm- 12:50pm

One partner will row while the other partner performs 30 Hollow Rocks + 20 Squats + 10 Pushups + any needed rest, switching when desired, accumulating max meters

Challenge 4 1:00pm-1:30pm

Complete 50 burpees (split the work) then max Bike calories with remaining time, stopping every 10 calories to do 5 burpees as a team.

The population was 34,152 at the 2020 census, and estimated at 48,536 as of July 2025. The hyphenated name attests to the town's history as two separate towns. Fuquay Springs and Varina merged in 1963 to create the modern town. Economically, the town initially grew due to tobacco trade and agriculture, but has seen recent population growth and real estate development due to its proximity to Research Triangle Park.
