This unique, human-powered winter race in the stunning Caribou Hills offers a choice of a 50km or 100km challenge, which you can tackle on skis, fat bike, or on foot, with the freedom to choose your mode of travel right up to the start. Capped at just 150 participants, it provides an intimate, adventurous experience on snowcat-groomed trails (weather permitting) that offer breathtaking vistas and a true test of endurance against the elements. As a major fundraiser for the Homer Cycling Club, your entry supports vital local trails while rewarding you with well-stocked checkpoints and a distinctive finisher's award. With a 24-hour time limit encouraging participants to move at their own pace through the Alaskan twilight and possibly aurora-filled night, it's less a conventional race and more a personal winter expedition. Secure your spot early for an unforgettable journey into the heart of a snowy frontier.

About Kachemak City

Kachemak, locally known as Kachemak City, is a small second-class city in the southern portion of the Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. The city consists of several subdivisions and other miscellaneous properties along an approximately 2-mile (3.2 km) stretch of East End Road, adjoining the northeast corner of the much larger city of Homer. The population grew from 431 as of the 2010 census to 576 at the 2020 census.
