About the Event
THE CHALLENGE RACE SAPPORO 1 is a JAAF-certified race on October 18 at the Makomanai Park and Toyohira River riverbed course, with the start at Makomanai Sekisui Heim Stadium. Distances are the full marathon (11,000 yen), half marathon (7,700 yen), 10K (5,500 yen), 5K (3,300 yen) and one mile (3,300 yen), run on a 10 km loop with three water points per lap and gel at one of them. Pacers are set for 12 paces, from 2:40 to 4:30 for the full marathon, and runners can warm up until five minutes before the start. Registration is 8:00 to 9:00 and the main start is at 9:30, with the mile at 9:35. Time limits are 40 minutes for the 5K, 90 minutes for the 10K, 2 hours 15 minutes for the half and 4 hours 30 minutes for the full. Bibs are collected on the day, there is no baggage storage, and results come as web certificates about two hours after the finish. The race is a designated event of the R.LEAGUE ranking series, and registered members get 10 percent off from their second start. Entries close one week before the race.
