Hirsel 5k

Nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Coldstream, the 20th September marks the return of the Presenting Coldstream 5K Jog/Run. This annual fundraising event offers runners and joggers an opportunity to explore the scenic trails around Hirsel's old golf course and woodland area while contributing to local civic week initiatives.
Participants can expect a challenging yet rewarding trail run that winds through lush woodlands, offering glimpses of nature at its best. The route is fully marshalled for safety but participants are reminded to proceed with caution as they take part at their own risk. Marshals will be stationed along the course to ensure smooth navigation and provide guidance throughout.
Registration opens early on race day at 9am outside the old Hirsel Golf Club, providing ample time for runners to warm up before the start of the event at 10am. Entry fees are £10 for adults and £5 for those under 15 years old, with no refunds available once registration is completed.
The course itself begins and ends within the confines of the Hirsel Golf Club grounds, featuring well-maintained trails that wind through dense woodland areas. A detailed map will be made available on Facebook closer to the event date as organizers finalize route details. Runners are encouraged to stay alert for marshal instructions throughout their journey.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants should ensure they keep clear of congested areas and respect volunteers managing the results area. Public toilet facilities are conveniently located at Hirsel Homestead or nearby public parks; however, there will be no changing rooms available on site.
Parking is limited near the start/finish point, so runners are advised to park responsibly and considerately. Organizers emphasize that they do not take responsibility for lost items or unsupervised children during the event.
