HimalayanXtri Xtreme Triathlon

The HimalayanXtri Xtreme Triathlon is a world-class endurance event scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026. Celebrating its 5th edition, this race is an official XTRI World Tour Partner, offering qualifying slots for the prestigious Norseman and the XTRI World Championship. The course is renowned for its extreme environmental shifts, starting with a night swim and concluding with a high-altitude mountain run that reaches the highest point in World Triathlon at 4,000 meters above sea level.

Pokhara is Nepal's second-largest city and serves as the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit. As of 2026, the city has a population of approximately 600,000 residents. The demographic profile is a diverse mix of ethnic groups, including Gurung, Magar, and Brahmin, alongside a vibrant international community of trekkers and expatriates. The local economy is heavily driven by adventure tourism and hospitality. Geographically, the race is set against the backdrop of the Annapurna range and the iconic Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail), with the run segment utilizing the Mardi Himal trail. The total elevation gain for the entire triathlon is a staggering 6,500 meters.

The race entry fee is 535 EUR, which covers the athlete and one designated supporter, including necessary permits for the Annapurna National Park and post-race accommodation in the village of Lwang. For international participants, the organization offers a comprehensive Full Package that includes a 12-night itinerary with acclimatization hikes, domestic flights between Kathmandu and Pokhara, and support staff. Strict cut-off times are enforced for athlete safety, notably the "High Camp" cut-off at 13 hours and 45 minutes into the race to determine eligibility for the 4,000m ViewPoint finish.
