Hillingdon 20

Hailing from its origins as the "Finchley 20" back in 1933, today’s Hillingdon 20 is an iconic race that stands tall as one of the world's longest-running continuous 20-mile road races. This annual event offers runners a challenging and rewarding experience just before spring marathons like London Marathon.
The route winds through the picturesque streets of Ruislip, starting near Bury Street at the Hillingdon Athletic Club’s clubhouse in HA4 7TJ. The course is meticulously marshalled to ensure safety and smooth navigation for all participants.
Upon crossing the finish line, runners are greeted with a host of amenities designed to enhance their experience:
- Cash Prizes: Competitors can vie for top cash awards in both male and female categories: £150 for first place, £100 for second, and £50 for third. Additionally, there is an extra prize pool for the best performers over 40 years old (V40), as well as those aged above 50 (V50) and 60 (V60).
- Medals: All finishers receive commemorative medals to celebrate their achievement.
- Timing: Chip-timing technology ensures accurate personal times for every runner, making it easier to track individual progress over the years.
The race also hosts the Hertfordshire 20-mile Championships. To be eligible for this prestigious title, participants must either have been born in or resided in Hertfordshire for at least nine months and declare their eligibility during registration.
