Experience an ascent like no other at the "Hill of a Race" (HOAR), returning to the snowy slopes of Edmonton on Sunday, April 5, 2026. This distinctive event challenges participants to power their way up and down the groomed runs of the Rabbit Hill Snow Resort, a feat rarely attempted in running shoes. Whether you choose to run, walk, crawl, or slide, the atmosphere is one of high-energy determination and unique winter fun. Without a skier or snowboarder in sight, the hill belongs entirely to the racers, offering a specialized trail experience that tests both traction and tenacity in the heart of Alberta.
The 2026 edition offers three distinct formats to cater to various levels of endurance, ranging from a focused 5 km loop to a grueling six-hour multi-lap challenge. Participants are well-supported with high-quality aid station nourishment and receive handcrafted medals upon crossing the finish line. As a unique bonus, every racer earns a one-day lift ticket voucher for the following ski season. More than just a test of physical strength, the race serves a vital humanitarian purpose; as part of the River's Edge Running Series, all proceeds are dedicated to the Olive Tree Projects, supporting a maternity center in Jacmel, Haiti.
