On Saturday, October 31st, 2026, join the HeroRun at Fairview Plaza for an inspiring morning filled with community spirit and athletic camaraderie. The race celebrates heroes from all walks of life—veterans, active service members, teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, coaches, parents, and neighbors—who contribute to making our communities stronger every day. The event is hosted by American Asset Corporation and Fairview Plaza, bringing together runners, walkers, families, businesses, and community supporters. Participants can register for either a 5k run that winds through the scenic South Park neighborhoods or a 1k Fun Run near Fairview Road. Both races start at 8:00 AM. HeroRun aims to raise funds for Veterans Bridge Home, a Charlotte-based nonprofit dedicated to connecting veterans with essential resources as they transition back into civilian life. Since its inception, HeroRun has raised over $250,000 in support of this vital cause. The race day is packed with activities and entertainment, including music from local bands and appearances by real heroes representing all five branches of the U.S. military. Families can enjoy a festive atmosphere while contributing to an important community initiative. A special tribute will be paid to Jake Miller, who dedicated three years of his life to fighting veteran homelessness alongside his daughter through their "Lemon Aid Stand" project. Despite never serving in the military himself, Jake's passion and commitment inspired many within the Charlotte region. His legacy continues as supporters gather at HeroRun to raise funds for Veterans Bridge Home.
