Hare Mountain 100

The Hare Mountain 100 is an epic ultra marathon that challenges even the most seasoned endurance athletes. Set on singletrack trails of the National Scenic Ozark Highland's Trail from Haw Creek to Shores Lake, this point-to-point race features rugged terrain and stunning isolation, culminating at over 2400 feet atop Hare Mountain. The course is known for its technical difficulty and steep elevation changes, making it one of the hardest ultras in the United States.
For those seeking shorter distances, there are options like the 10k (600' gain), 25k with over 2500 feet of ascent within six miles, a challenging out-and-back 50k course with more than 7200 feet of elevation change, and a grueling 50-mile option that offers nearly 12,000 feet of vertical gain.
The race weekend is not just about the run; it's also an opportunity to camp at Shores Lake campground, enjoy camaraderie around bonfires, share stories with fellow runners, and indulge in delicious food. The event features well-stocked aid stations managed by experienced volunteers who ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
Registration includes access to satellite GPS tracking via MAProgress and Ultrasignup live updates from the course's Starlink-enabled aid stations. Participants are rewarded with high-quality buckles, medals, and wooden awards crafted by race organizers. The event is scheduled for October 29, 2027, providing a perfect autumn setting amidst the Ozark Highlands' breathtaking scenery.
For those unable to secure additional crew or shuttle services, financial assistance may be available upon request.
