Welcome to the Welkom Run, an inclusive and diverse race welcoming runners of all ages and abilities. Whether you're participating as part of your school team or representing a local organization, make sure to coordinate with your contact person beforehand if planning a group entry. This year's event features adjusted start times for running categories which now begin at 09:30 AM on October 4th, 2026. Walking events will commence earlier in the morning starting from 8:00 AM. The race distances have been slightly modified to accommodate more precise timing intervals; participants can expect a 5km route equivalent to 5.25 kilometers and a 10km course measuring approximately 10.5 kilometers. Registration is exclusively available for individuals with Dutch or Belgian bank account numbers and credit card details. For those without these options, personal registration will be possible on Thursday, October 1st, and Saturday, October 3rd at the race secretariat office. Note that registrations are not accepted directly from participants on race day itself. Participants must complete their online entry form by October 3rd at 1:00 PM to ensure a smooth process. Mandatory fields marked with an asterisk () require attention during submission. Each participant may only register once per event, and it's important for club members to fill in the affiliated organization details; non-members should leave this field blank. The Welkom Run offers overall awards for the top three finishers across various distances. If any errors occur while filling out your registration form, don't worry—many fields can be adjusted later by yourself or through contacting the secretariat via email if necessary adjustments are needed post-submission. Once registered, participants will need to have their payment method ready as online transactions must be completed using iDeal (later Wero), Bancontact, or a credit card. No invoices will be sent out; instead, confirmation emails and bank statements serve as proof of payment.
