Welcome to the 33rd edition of the Haliburton Forest Trail Race, set to take place from Saturday, September 12th through Sunday, September 13th, 2026. Nestled within the privately owned Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve Ltd., this event offers runners a unique opportunity to explore some of nature's most pristine trails. The race features several distance options to cater to all levels of endurance: a challenging 12K run for those looking for a shorter, but no less intense experience; an exhilarating 26K course that winds through the forest’s rolling hills and lakeside paths; the half marathon equivalent in trail running with its 50K option; a grueling 50-mile distance for seasoned runners; and finally, the crown jewel of this event—the Haliburton Forest 100 Miler. Each route presents a different facet of the forest's beauty. Runners will traverse rugged trails that wind through heavily wooded areas dotted with serene lakes and babbling streams. The terrain is varied, offering both steep climbs and gentle descents, ensuring an engaging challenge for all participants. As you lace up your shoes and step onto the starting line, prepare to immerse yourself in a world where every turn reveals new vistas of natural splendor. Registration opens now with spots filling quickly. To secure race swag such as t-shirts or 100 miler hoodies, make sure to sign up by July 20th, 2026. Once registered, you are part of a community that values the outdoors and challenges alike. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions—our team is here to help. Please note, there will be no deferrals or cancellations allowed for this race. If circumstances beyond your control arise, contact us directly regarding potential exceptions on an individual basis.
