Hello! My name is Phoebe Taylor and I am the president and founder of Grandmomma Wears Pink, a non-profit organization geared toward bringing hope and joy to breast cancer patients. This will be done by giving local breast cancer patients homemade care packages filled with a fitness tracker, a pink heart pillow, Burt’s Bees chapstick and cuticle cream set, pink cozy socks, a face mask, a handmade inspirational bracelet and keychain, a cute handmade headband, high protein snacks, flavored water packets, hard candy, and a personal note. Every item was chosen with care and the personal note will list each item along with its purpose. The cost of each package is approximately $60. All funds raised will go directly toward purchasing items and supplies for the packages. Our goal is to raise enough money for 100 care packages, which will be delivered to breast cancer patients through the United Regional Foundation, or by personal request. We have already delivered over 50 care packages since November 2024, and we hope to increase our outreach in the next year.
I started this project after seeing my grandmother fight breast cancer in 2022 and 2023. During her battle, she was strong and stayed hopeful. While my grandmother was undergoing her mastectomies she received a care package that brought her a great amount of hope which helped her keep going during the difficult time. I saw how much hope and joy the care package brought my grandmother, and was inspired to bring that same hope and joy to others.
Grandmomma Wears Pink is run and founded by locals of Wichita Falls, TX. I am currently an 8th grader in the WFISD school district. Outside of school, I enjoy being involved at my church and participating in both of the amazing local theaters.

Learn more about the host city, Wichita Falls.
Wichita Falls is a town in the North Central Plains of Texas, named for Wichita Indians who lived near waterfalls on what is now the Wichita River. In 1882, Fort Worth and Denver Railroad brought the first train to the area, establishing the town as an agricultural and trade center. The oil boom in the early 1900s made city headquarters for north Texas petroleum production, service and manufacturing. The city is the seat for Wichita County and a leading gateway to Texas on I-44. It's a major trade and industrial center with economy based on Sheppard Air Force Base, oil processing and other varied manufacturing.
