Goshen Gallop

Embrace the spirit of adventure at the 48th annual Goshen Gallop, taking place this year at the picturesque Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center. Nestled within the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area and Green Mountain National Forest, this event offers runners a challenging yet rewarding experience through rugged trails and gravel roads.
The race begins with a mass start at 4 pm from under the “start” banner on the road leading into the center. The course is well-marked, guiding participants through varied terrain that includes some muddy sections between kilometers 6 to 8 but remains generally dry otherwise. Spectacular views await as runners traverse trails rated among Vermont’s finest vistas.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration devices since this year's event operates on a cup-free policy; however, there is a spigot at the 5 km mark for those who need additional water along the route. Post-race refreshments include water and lemonade served in reusable cups provided by Blueberry Hill.
A dinner buffet will be available between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm exclusively for registered meal ticket holders, with a limited number of extra tickets available at registration or through Ultrasignup's store feature. The menu features locally sourced ingredients that reflect the region’s culinary heritage.
Race day also includes an exciting raffle where prizes will be drawn around 6 pm; winners must be present to claim their rewards. Awards for top finishers and age group champions in both the 5k and 10 km races are presented at approximately 6:15 pm, with all runners required to attend if they wish to receive recognition.
Additional amenities include porta-potties outside the ski center, waste disposal stations encouraging proper recycling practices, a pond for swimming (with supervision of children), and camping options available through registration. Dogs are welcome on leashes throughout the event area.
The Goshen Gallop has evolved since its inception in 1978 from an idea to host summer events similar to their winter American Ski Marathon into a beloved trail race that celebrates community, nature, and fitness. By participating, runners contribute directly to maintaining the trails they enjoy through donations benefiting Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center.
