GOLD'S STRONGER THAN CANCER

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, Gold's Gym Laredo invites runners and walkers of all ages to participate in its STRONGER THAN CANCER FITNESS FEST. This family-friendly event features a scenic 5K run and a one-mile walk through the vibrant streets of Laredo.
Registration for this heartwarming event closes online on October 17, 2026, at 8:00 AM CST. Participants can also register early or purchase tickets to additional fitness events like Zumbathon and Spinathon directly from Gold's Gym locations in North Central Laredo.
The day kicks off with check-in starting at 7:00 am at the gym’s north central location on San Isidro Parkway, followed by a warm-up session that participants can enjoy independently. The race begins promptly at 8:00 am for both runners and walkers. Free parking is available in Gold's Gym North Central Parking Lot.
The event encourages family participation; children aged 12 and under must be supervised by an adult on the course, while strollers are welcome but should start from behind the main pack to ensure everyone’s safety. Pets are not permitted for their own protection as well as that of other participants unless they are service animals, in which case exceptions will be made.
Participants can look forward to a rewarding experience with age group awards and overall winners recognized based on both gun time and chip time. The 5K course details will be communicated during the event day and posted online for reference beforehand.
Registration fees include $30 for runners participating in the 5K run, and walkers are charged the same amount. Shirts are available to those who register before October 1st; they can pick them up at packet pickup on October 16th from 1 pm to 6 pm or receive theirs after race day registration.
For a seamless experience, Swift Timing will provide state-of-the-art timing equipment for the 5K run. Participants are issued disposable chips during packet pickup, eliminating long lines and ensuring smooth start times.
