About the Event

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales, this race offers runners a unique opportunity to explore the tranquil Leeds & Liverpool canal towpath near Gargrave, North Yorkshire. The course spans four distances—5k, 10k, half marathon, and full marathon—providing options for both casual joggers and seasoned athletes.
The route follows a flat "out and back" path along the serene waters of the canal, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Despite its tranquil appearance, the course presents challenges typical to trail running with uneven terrain that can test even experienced runners. Water stations are strategically placed throughout the race for hydration needs, while feed stations ensure participants have access to energy-boosting snacks.
The entire route is clearly marked and marshalled, ensuring a safe and well-managed experience from start to finish. Each participant will receive a bespoke medal upon crossing the finish line, along with sweets and other treats as an extra treat for all runners who complete their chosen distance within the 6.5-hour cut-off time.
This event celebrates not just athletic achievement but also the beauty of Yorkshire's natural landscapes, making it a memorable experience for anyone looking to immerse themselves in both running and nature.
