About the Event

The Glacier Marathon has been held annually since 2006 , and in 2026 we'll be celebrating our 20th anniversary . You can look forward to it! The Glacier Marathon has become a fixture on the summer sports calendar in Tyrol. The course winds its way through the breathtaking mountain scenery of the entire Pitztal Valley . Starting at the foot of the glacier, you'll enjoy the most beautiful views that nature has to offer in the Pitztal mountains. The Glacier Marathon embodies what sport has always been about: physical exertion, fitness, fighting spirit, and most importantly: camaraderie! The friendly atmosphere, the warmth of the course volunteers, and the exuberant atmosphere at the finish line are sure to impress.

About Imst

Imst is a town in the Austrian federal state of Tyrol. It lies on the River Inn in western Tyrol, some 50 kilometres west of Innsbruck and at an altitude of 828 metres above sea level. With a current population (2018) of 10,504, Imst is the administrative centre of Imst District.
