Glenmore Challenge Running Festival 2027

About the Event

Experience the beauty of Ireland's Cooley Peninsula on June 12, 2027, with distances ranging from 5K to marathon. Runners will traverse through the picturesque Glenmore Valley, where longer routes offer breathtaking views of Omeath and Carlingford Lough, framed by the majestic Mourne Mountains.
All finishers receive a distinctive commemorative medal, while top male and female participants in each category earn cash prizes and trophies. Age-category awards are also available to recognize runners across all ages.
Race day begins with packet pickup at 7:00am, followed by the marathon start at 8:00am and subsequent race starts at 10:00am for shorter distances. Parking is provided at Mullaghbuoy Community Centre, and water stations are strategically placed along each route to keep runners hydrated.
The event promises a vibrant atmosphere filled with community spirit and post-race refreshments at the finish line. This year’s chosen charity is the Maria Goretti Foundation, adding an extra layer of meaning to your run.
