This event masterfully bridges the gap between road running and high-alpine ultras, offering a stunning 29km course from Vífilsstaðir that winds past Lake Vífilsstaðavatn, through the dramatic Búrfellsgjá gorge, and around Mount Helgafell. Designed in collaboration with national team coaches, the route provides a genuine trail challenge with less elevation than major mountain races, making it ideal for seasoned runners seeking a new adventure. With 5km and 10km options also available, it’s a celebration for the entire running community, set against the raw, beautiful landscape right on Reykjavik's doorstep.
