Fyn Ultra 2027

Embark on an epic adventure along Denmark’s rugged Funen coastline for one of Northern Europe’s most demanding ultra races. Covering 350 kilometers non-stop around the island, this grueling course takes you through remote beaches, isolated islets, and desolate forests, offering a unique exploration of some of Denmark's most breathtaking coastal landscapes.
The route winds along historic paths dating back over a thousand years to Viking times, with stretches that follow ancient footpaths and forest roads. The terrain varies from narrow trails winding through dense woods to long stretches along the coast where you’ll find yourself navigating without clear pathways, all in an effort to avoid asphalt and maximize your connection with nature.
Along the way, expect four aid stations where runners can rest and resupply before continuing on their journey. Despite its formidable reputation—less than 30% of participants typically complete the race—the event is not strictly competitive but rather a test of personal endurance and resilience. Those who manage to finish within the 100-hour time limit are celebrated as true adventurers.
This ultra marathon, steeped in history from Viking times through pirate rule under Marsk Stig, culminates in an unforgettable experience that captivates artists and outdoor enthusiasts alike with its stunning natural beauty and challenging terrain.
