Embark on an autumn adventure through the lush trails of Lower Vancouver Island and BC Parks with Frontrunners Fall Trail Running Clinic. This six-week series, running from October 17 to November 21, 2026, is designed for runners who are eager to explore the scenic paths or refine their trail-running skills. Each Saturday session begins at 8:00 am and lasts two to three hours as you venture into some of the most picturesque parks in the region. Whether it's Thetis Lake Regional Park on October 17, Goldstream Provincial Park on October 24, Francis King Regional Park on October 31, Mount Work Regional Park on November 7, or Gowlland Tod Provincial Park on November 21, each location offers a unique and breathtaking backdrop for your trail-running journey. Led by experienced guides, the clinics provide an in-depth look into various aspects of trail running. From mastering technical descents to understanding essential safety measures, participants will gain invaluable knowledge that enhances their enjoyment and confidence on the trails. Post-run sessions include brief talks followed by treats, fostering a sense of camaraderie among runners. The clinic caters to diverse pace groups, ensuring every participant finds a comfortable rhythm regardless of speed. With options for both experienced trail runners looking to refine their technique and those new to off-road running who want to ease into it at a more relaxed pace, there's something for everyone within the program. Participants are encouraged to bring gear suited for varying weather conditions, such as wind/rain jackets, buffs, gloves, hydration belts or vests, and trail shoes if desired. These items will enhance your comfort and safety during each outing. After completing the clinic, runners may choose to challenge themselves further by participating in local events like the Prairie Inn Harriers Gunner Shaw 10k Cross Country Classic on November 21 (tentative date) or the Stewart Mountain 10/5 Mile Cross Country Challenge on December 6, 2025. This clinic is not for beginners but welcomes regular runners who are ready to expand their horizons. Ensure you meet the prerequisites: running at least twice a week with one longer run of an hour or more at a steady pace (8:00/km or faster). Join us and discover why Lower Vancouver Island's trails are among the best in Canada, brimming with natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Please note that registration for this event is non-refundable and no deferrals will be granted.
