Fourth Annual DVUSD 5k & 1-Mile Run/Walk

Join us for the Fourth Annual DVUSD 5k & 1 Mile Run/Walk! This event is open to all DVUSD employees, students, friends, family members, and community members! DVUSD employees receive 5,000 WellStyles points for participating

Participants MUST register by Friday, January 12 to receive a T-Shirt. 

***Only 5k participants will receive a bib for timing purposes and awards. 1-Mile Walk participants will not be timed. 

***If you sign up for the 5k and change to the 1-mile event the day of the event (or vice versa), please let the race coordinator know immediately.

We are excited to announce two NEW events this year prior to the 5k start time! A Blow-Up Costume Dash and a Kids Dash!

• Blow-Up Costume Dash: Blow up that costume and sprint through the finish line! The dash will be a short distance on the track and friendly for all abilities! Which blow-up costume will win??

  • *You will have time to change out of your costume prior to the 5k and 1-Mile start times. 

• Kids Dash: Kids aged 10 and under will have the opportunity to race each other in full sprint mode before the big event begins! They will compete in the following categories: Ages 9-10, 7-8, 5-6, 3-4, and 1-2. Get your cameras out, parents...this is TOO cute to pass up!

  • *The Kids Dash is a very short sprint and will take approximately 10 minutes for all children to participate in it. 

Event Schedule:

• 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. - Check-In 

• 8:00 a.m. - Welcome Announcement

• 8:05 a.m. - National Anthem and Presentation of Colors

• 8:10 a.m. - Blow-Up Cosume Dash

• 8:15 a.m. - Kids Dash

• 8:25 a.m. - Stretch/Warm-Up

• 8:30 a.m. - 5k begins for faster runners

• 8:32 a.m. - 5k begins for all remaining participants

• 8:25 a.m. - 1-Mile Walk begins

• Awards & Closing will take place once all 5k winners have finished (approximately 9:20 - 9:30 a.m.)

Awards:

All 5K participants will be officially timed and eligible for awards. Medals will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female finishers in the following age divisions:

• Age 13 and under 

• Age 14-19

• Age 20-29 

• Age 30-39 

• Age 40-49 

• Age 50-59 

• Age 60-69 

• Age 70+

Runner swag details:

• Participants will ONLY receive a t-shirt if registered by Friday, January 12

• 5k Participants will receive a t-shirt and timing bib if you register by January 12

• 1-Mile Participants will receive a t-shirt if you register by January 12

• You must pick up your 5k bib and t-shirt at the Health Fair at the District Office on January 23 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
