This 19-mile, 3000ft ascent challenge in Saddleworth is a true test of self-reliance, requiring runners to visit five iconic trig points in ascending order via their own chosen route on public rights of way. Taking an anticlockwise direction on trails and parts of the Pennine Way, it blends the strategic mind of navigation with the raw physicality of fell running against the stunning backdrop of the South Pennines. With manned checkpoints offering sustenance and a warm post-race welcome, the event is a celebration of the traditional, adventurous spirit of the sport, licensed with both the FRA and TRA.
