Confront the ultimate winter dragon in the Georgia mountains at the Fierce Dragon ultramarathon, a multi-day HardAss Events (HAE) challenge unfolding from Tuesday to Sunday, **starting in mid-January 2026** in Blairsville's Vogel State Park. This extreme H9-branded event features two brutal distances: the **Fully Fury 200-mile** and the **Firestarter 100-mile**, both traversing the rugged Duncan Ridge, Coosa Loop, and Benton MacKaye trails with an unrelenting average of 310 feet of gain per mile. Designed as a true winter test, runners must prepare for sub-zero wind chills, evaporative cooling from rain, and the raw, isolated beauty of the Southern Appalachians at their most fierce.

With the 100-mile race starting Friday morning and the 200-mile earlier in the week, this January expedition is for seasoned ultrarunners seeking a contained yet savage challenge far from summer's heat. It’s a self-sufficient journey where resilience is the only currency, set on a relentless looped course that demands respect for the elements and rewards with an unparalleled sense of winter conquest.
