The 9th annual English's Ridge Rumble is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, New York. This USATF-sanctioned event, organized by Salt City Trail Racing, serves as the season opener for the local trail community. The race is known for its diverse terrain, ranging from technical single-track with rocks and roots to wide double-track paths through "The Serengeti," old-growth forests, and open fields with scenic vistas. The course is designed as an approximately 10-mile loop with roughly 1,300 feet of elevation gain per lap. Runners can choose between three distances: a 50km (three loops), a 20 Miler (two loops), and a 10 Miler (one loop).

Runners should be prepared for conditions ranging from freezing rain and leftover snow to mild spring sunshine.
Registration for the 2026 event closes on April 15th, and the race often sells out well in advance. Participant amenities include two well-stocked aid stations per loop featuring Tailwind, fruit, and snacks, with the addition of post-race ramen (including vegan options) which became a staple after the harsh weather conditions of 2025. The race headquarters is the Reserve Picnic Shelter, which serves as both the start and finish line. While refunds are not offered, deferrals are available for specific circumstances like injury or volunteering. The current men's 50km course record was set in 2021 by Jared Burdick with a time of 3:44:33. The event remains a tribute to its founder, Scott English, and continues to highlight the rare geological features and technical trail network of one of New York’s most visited state parks.
