Experience the scenic beauty and challenging terrain of Elan Valley with our iconic 10-mile road race. This annual event offers runners a picturesque loop through the heart of the valley and its stunning surroundings.
Registration fees are £20 for Welsh Athletics affiliated runners, £22 for non-affiliated participants, and Rhayader Running Club members receive an additional discount of £3. A small booking charge applies to all entries. The race is licensed by UKA (UK Athletics) for your peace of mind.
No road closures will be in place during the event, with a 3-hour cut-off time ensuring that everyone has ample opportunity to complete the course at their own pace. There's no early start this year, so make sure you arrive on time and ready to go!
We use chip timing technology for accurate results distribution immediately after crossing the finish line. All participants will receive a race memento as part of your entry package.
Registration takes place at Elan Valley Visitors Centre, which is conveniently located just 5 minutes from the start line. The Visitor Centre offers parking facilities, a café, and restrooms—though we recommend carpooling to avoid potential overcrowding in the lot during peak hours.
Entry deadline for this year's race is midnight on October 26th, with only 200 spots available. Once you've secured your place, detailed information will be emailed directly to each participant ahead of time. Be sure to collect your race number and timing chip upon arrival at registration day.
The course itself caters to all running abilities but includes undulating terrain that may pose a challenge for wheelchair athletes due to the nature of the route. When registering, we ask participants to provide an estimated finish time to assist in our volunteer placement planning.
Please note that once you've entered, there are no cancellations or deferrals allowed; however, if you need to transfer your entry to another runner before October 26th, this can be done via your Entry Central account.
