Edge Hill University NW Sprint Champs

On October 10, 2026, the DEE October Weekend kicks off with an exhilarating double sprint at Edge Hill University. Participants will navigate through the campus's diverse landscape, featuring faculty buildings and student accommodation nestled among gardens, open spaces, and water features connected by a network of walkways.
The race map for this event is detailed in ISSprOM 2019-2, updated for summer 2026, providing a scale of 1:4000 for courses 1, 2, 3 (W40+), and 6; while courses 3 (M55+), 4, 5, and 7 are represented at a larger scale of 1:3000. Parking and the event center will be located on campus, with toilets and changing facilities available at the University Sports Centre.
Competitors have the opportunity to enter their Urban League class for scoring points in the UKOL/UKUL/NWUL leagues. Courses are designed with estimated winning times of 12-15 minutes, allowing participants to choose any course they prefer beyond those designated by age group; simply select "Other" if your chosen route has a higher number than indicated.
The event also serves as part of the NW Sprint Championships, open exclusively to members of NWOA clubs. Medals will be awarded to top finishers in each age category from M/W10 up to M/W85+, while trophies go to overall winners in both male and female Open classes.
Entry deadlines are set for Sunday, October 4th; late online entries with a £2 surcharge can still be accepted until Friday, October 9th at 6 PM. Entry on the day is possible but subject to map availability and an additional fee.
Participants may borrow SI cards free of charge or hire SIACs for both days at a cost of £4.25 each. Start times are flexible between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM, with subsequent runs beginning one hour later after the initial sprint. All courses will close by 3:30 PM.
