East/Echo Canyon Bike Events- Road Race & Gran Fondo
About the Event
The East/Echo Canyon Bike Event returns on August 22nd in Henefer, offering cyclists of all levels a thrilling journey through some of Utah's most breathtaking and challenging terrain. This beloved two-decade-old race kicks off at 9:30 AM with the Echo/East Canyon Road Race, covering an exhilarating 60-mile course that winds through picturesque landscapes and offers stunning views of the surrounding canyons. Medals are awarded to the top three male racers in each division—1/2/3, 4/5, Masters 40+, and Masters 60+—celebrating excellence across various age groups. Just five minutes later at 9:35 AM, women take on their own challenging route with similar divisions but slightly shorter distances, including Women’s Cat. 1/2/3, Women's Cat. 4-5, and Women's Masters 40+. The race promises to be intense yet fair, rewarding the best performances. For young cyclists aged 10 to 18, a junior event starts at 10:25 AM with a manageable but competitive 20.5-mile route through some of Henefer’s most scenic areas. This event provides an excellent opportunity for budding racers to experience the thrill and camaraderie of cycling. Immediately following is the Gran Fondo Road Ride, also starting at 10:25 AM. Designed for those who prefer a longer yet leisurely ride, this 60-mile route allows riders to immerse themselves in the natural beauty surrounding Henefer while enjoying a more relaxed pace. Packet pickup will be held on Thursday, August 19th from 3 PM to 7 PM at Rotary Glen Park. Participants must bring their current USAC license for verification and sign the waiver form personally.
