EAST END 1K

On November 14, 2026, the East End community comes alive for the seventh edition of the East End 1K. This year's race not only celebrates fitness and camaraderie but also supports Small Places, a local nonprofit urban farm dedicated to growing fresh produce and fostering community programs in Houston’s vibrant East End.
The event kicks off at Equal Parts Brewing with registration opening promptly at 11 AM. Participants can expect a scenic course that winds through the heart of the neighborhood, offering glimpses of charming streets and historic buildings. The race is designed for all skill levels, emphasizing fun over speed. Dogs are welcome to join on leashes, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Post-race festivities include prizes and raffle drawings with opportunities to win various gifts. Each registration includes a technical shirt, two free drink tickets at Equal Parts Brewing, and an entry into the prize drawing. Late registrants can still participate but will not receive shirts unless they register by October 9th or until capacity is reached.
The race route is clearly marked for easy navigation, with participants starting across from the brewery near light rail tracks—so be cautious when crossing streets. Water stations are available at Equal Parts Brewing to help runners stay hydrated. The event encourages sustainability by asking everyone to bring their own water bottles to reduce waste.
Join us on November 14th and contribute to a more food-secure community while enjoying a day of running, beer tasting, and neighborhood charm.
